The North Fork of the Stanislaus is currently flowing at 198cfs, a slight increase from last week, but still an excellent and very fishable flow. This stretch has remained consistently productive all summer, and this bump in flow will only help keep things steady. These conditions are ideal for wet wading and make the river very approachable for anglers of all experience levels.
Expect a warm week ahead with highs in the upper 80s and overnight lows in the upper 60s. Be sure to come prepared with sun protection and plenty of water if you're heading out during midday.

Pro tip: If you need help setting up a dry-dropper rig, check out the diagram at the bottom of the Tactics Page on our website—it’s quick, simple, and highly effective.
With summer break winding down, this stretch of the North Fork continues to impress. The fishing is holding strong, the weather remains mild for August, and the flows are stable. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to fish this section, now is the time.
Get out there while the good weather lasts, and don’t forget the sunscreen.
